A very nice, chatty podcast. A fair amount of time is spent just chatting, but there are also some segments and interviews. The 'explicit' rating is there because they have frank, explicit discussions, when and as they come up.

This is an interview podcast, with no frills and no bells and whistles. There is a slightly echoing quality, which is distracting at first. On the other hand, the quality of the interviews is very good. The interview with Nedeem Aslam, in particular, was hard for me to listen to because about five minutes in I wanted to turn the podcast in and start writing myself. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants insight to the writing process, or who wants to find new reading material.

I can't decide whether to be amused or annoyed at this podcast. It's a massive performance for a website which has as its stated goal to get 1,000,000 viewers by February 14th. The website itself has remarkably little content, and what's there is fairly generic positive sentiments and cute pictures. It's a promotion for a (self help program? cult? book? movie?) "Pay it forward". The website claims that if it gets its one million hits it will change the world in some unspecified positive way on valentines day... I think I might want to update my anti virus program, but the less cynical (or more easily amused) of you may want to check it out.

This podcast consists of short, dramatic readings from a number of sources. The pieces are enjoyable, but a bit shorter in duration than my ideal listening time. I think it's a nice change of pace from the usual dramatic podcast.

Wreckless Media Radio is the best show on the internet today. Never before have I had so much fun from an audio file. The content, although sometimes on the edge is pure genius, and I just love the overall atmosphere of the show. Hats off to you guys, Chris.

A man podcasting about himself, his life, and his world. He was (until very recently) a newspaperman, which explains why he can write so effectively. He's also a good speaker. I think I will have to subscribe to this one.

I lost track of this podcast last summer, and just started catching up on the backlog. This is a super-creepy post holocaust story. It's sounds like the zombie apocalypse meets minions of the elder gods, but I'm not sure I've caught all the threads yet. Very much worth listening to, but don't listen when you're alone, late at night. (full disclosure - I read one of the earlier episode recaps, so I'm biased. OTOH - I did that because I was loving the creepiness, and am looking forward to catching up with the story)

This seems to be the new feed for the old "Don't Panic, It's Organic" podcast. It seems to be the podcast version of a radio show. The information is excellent, and the music is delightful, but the pacing is a bit slow for my personal taste. If you've been missing that feed, you need to resubscribe. If you never discovered it the first time around, and are a gardener, you should at least give it a listen.

The author reads his work here. He starts off overpronouncing a bit, but loosens up as soon as he hits the dialogue. The characters are not necessarily sympathetic, but they are interesting. It's a story of the Chicago Mob during the roaring '20s. Starts off as dialogue driven, with a large dose of backstory, but it captures your interest pretty quickly.

As My father-in-law says, people grow up, get married and move out of the house. While all of these things don't happen in this book, Ishmael does grow up more and continues to surprise and delight. I really enjoyed watching Ishmael grow from a boy to a man in so many ways.

Nathan Lowell, puts together the right amount of detail, with the right amount of action to tell a wonderful story. The story follows the hero as he begins to find his way, and his path in life. I might now save the day, but he will certainly make you smile.

The podcast is sponsored by a probiotic diet system, but it's an up front association, so something to be aware of. Most of the episodes seem to be focused on diet and nutrition, so expect a sponsor bias. Recent shows interview a psychiatrist about vitamin D deficiency and its effect on the heart. A highly published certified naturopath talking about how a dietary book which highlights a 'miracle fiber'. An authority on evidenced based dietary supplements who represents a fish oil manufacturer... I would find this podcast more personally useful if it featured interviews with individuals who were not economically involved with the 'miracle cures' - with one exception the 'experts' mentioned above had a conflict of interest which makes them less useful as an information source. The exception was a medical expert speaking very much out of his field. Although there may be good information in some of the episodes, I think it would be hard for an uneducated listener to be certain what's fact and what's bias. From what I heard, I'd have to say it's a series of informercials, and should be though of as such.

Seamus Jocum, the writer of 'Sex Percussions' webcomic hosts this podcast. He's very knowledgable and interested in the field. At one point he mentions a two episode per week schedule, which is tremendously ambitious for such a long podcast, and he can be forgiven for not managing to hit the mark. Sound quality is not the best, there doesn't seem to be much post production at all. On the other hand, the music selection is eclectic and good. I'd reccommend it for anyone who is on the lookout for new comics to read, or who is interested in producing one.

Audio books reviewed by a variety of individuals, and processed through a text-to-speech generator, apparently without anyone listening to the final product before uploading it (at one point a paragraph repeats). The reviews are good quality, but the technique for producing the podcast retracts. It's nice to have the reviews, but it might be better just to read them on a blog rather than listening to this production.

This vidcast is a companion to a christmas recipe website. The production value is mediocre at best (it's basically a text-based slideshow with christmas music in the background) and the cast itself will become obsolete in a month (until next year). Having said that, it's a useful resource which does 'exactly what it says on the tin'. The site will go into my bookmarks, anyway, and probably has a place in yours as well.

Much as I dislike giving negative reviews, I can't find anything positive to say about this. There are technical problems with the feed. Once I managed to view the mp4 I still found it difficult to read, the production is amateurish and ugly. The site looks like both spam and quackery. Not only don't I think it's worth watching, I think the FDA needs to crack down on this nonsense.

Exactly what it says on the tin. The hostess knits a fairly complex pattern for fifteen minutes, reciting each stitch as she makes it. Her voice is soft and even, very restful to listen to, but knitting lace this way is sure to be a challenge - no chart to refer to if you lose your place. You can hear the needles clicking in the background, which is actually very nice. It makes you feel like you're knitting with a friend.

This has to be my all time favourite horror podcast, though at times the quality of the readings can let down what is a really good story, also some of the mistakes in pronouncing certain words leaves me wondering if that person is quite ready to be let loose on the listening public! All that said, I always look forward to the next episode.

I'm biased, no doubt. I'm a partial (orthodox) Preterist having been exposed to that school of thought thanks to one Dee Dee Warren of Xena, err...TheologyWeb fame. I enjoy the humour immensely as well as the more substantive points made regarding eschatology. I even find myself air drumming (air guitar is so passe) to the bumper music and that's a good thing. I have no iPod. I have not succumb to the svengali like sway of Apple, Inc. I am a Zune owner; one of only 12 on the planet. 12 apostles, 12 Zune owners...not mere coincidence. Podcast Pickle seems to be working quite nicely with my Zune. Anyway, thanks Dee Dee for a great podcast! Don't stop now, keep on keepin' on!
